Message from the Chairmen
December 14, 2011
Dear Friends and Fellow Wahyanites,
Greetings from the Wah Yan boys in New York. We have just celebrated the 20th anniversary of our Wah Yan College Alumni Chapter in Eastern US. As we enter into a new decade the Chapter is honored to have been selected by the International Networking Committee of the Wah Yan Alumni Association to host the next Wah Yan International Conference (WYIC) in 2012.
The Organizing Committee of WYIC2012 would like to extend a warm invitation to you and your family to attend the 13th Wah Yan International Conference in New York City from August 3 to August 5, 2012. The organizing committee has been hard at work to plan for this event since July 2011. The theme of the WYIC2012 is Men for Others, and we will celebrate and honor the achievements of Wah Yan alumni who have contributed substantially to their communities, but sort of as incognito, unsung heroes.
The conference will be held on the campus of New York University which is located in the vibrant Greenwich Village of Manhattan, New York. The conference hotel Marriott Downtown is near the Wall Street area and is right by the National 9/11 Memorial.
The conference program is structured to provide ample opportunities for attendees to strengthen existing bonds or create new ties with fellow classmates, other alumni, school officials and teachers. In addition New York City offers a variety of choices for shopping, entertainment and sightseeing. The sights and sounds of the cosmopolitan are for you to experience. In New York City, the Big Apple, there is something for everyone.
Please explore our conference website for additional information on the program, venues, and activities. Your suggestions and comments are most welcome. Hope you can join us next summer to further spread and enliven the Wah Yan Spirit, of which the Jesuit motto Men for Others represents an essential constituent part.
Yours sincerely,
Lap-Yan Cheng and Peter Lau
