| The Empire State Building is a 102-story landmark skyscraper designed in the distinctive Art Deco style. Its name is derived from the nickname for New York, the Empire State and it stood as the world’s tallest building for 40 years. Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, the Empire State Building was again the tallest building in New York (although it was no longer the tallest in the world). The Empire State Building has one of the most popular outdoor observatories in the world, having been visited by over 110 million people. The 86th-floor observation deck offers impressive 360-degree views of the city. There is a second observation deck on the 102nd floor that is open to the public. The lines to enter the observation decks are “as legendary as the building itself:” there are five of them: the sidewalk line, the lobby elevator line, the ticket purchase line, the second elevator line, and the line to get off the elevator and onto the observation deck. For an extra fee tourists can skip to the front of the line. |

| Declared a National Historic Landmark in 1987, Rockefeller Center is a complex covering 22 acres of 19 commercial buildings which are rich in history and breathtaking in artistry. An expert historian will guide you through the Center’s most significant buildings, gardens and spaces. Follow along with your own personal headset and enjoy this uninterrupted account through a closed circuit connection. The observation deck, dubbed “Top of the Rock” and built to resemble the deck of an ocean liner, offers sightseers a bird’s eye view of the city, competing with the 86th floor observatory of the Empire State Building. This deck is often considered the best panoramic city view, if only because it offers a view of the aforementioned Empire State Building, which obviously cannot be seen from its own observation deck. Go behind the scenes of popular TV shows on the NBC Studio Tour. You will be taken through the halls and into the studios of NBC’s New York operations and visit the NBC Sharp Globe Theater, Broadcast Operations, the Make-up Room, and even produce your very own news and weather program in the High Definition Mini-Control Studio! There will be a backstage peek at some of NBC’s most famous studios, including Saturday Night Live, Nightly News and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. |
